Lajos Sárközy and his music band
He was born in Budapest as a member of seven generation musicians. He learnt to play the violin from his father at the age of five. He started his studies at the Józsefváros Music School, where his teacher was Judit Szászné Réger. At the age of 13 he was admitted to the special talent class at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, where he went to Eszter Perényi’s class. At the age of 15 he won the Radics Gábor Hungarian jazz violin competition, followed by his solo album “I am Only Fifteen”. In 2009 he had two solo concerts with the California Silicon Grace Walley Symphony Orchestra. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to play with such great artists as Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, Tony Lakatos, Roby Lakatos, Elemér Balázs, Tim Ries, Yoyo Mayer. He has traveled to many parts of the world with renowned bands as a “session” musician.
Nowadays with his current orchestra, as a constant performer tries to take care of the vanishing centuries-old music culture in the 100-year-old Restaurant. ts aim is to promote Gypsy music at home and abroad as widely as possible.
